Senior Accountant
(Central Visayas – Cebu City)
Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant role requires the successful candidate to perform a variety of general accounting functions within a global shared services accounting center, including, but not limited to:
• Preparing journal entries; maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger and legal entity borrowing statements
• Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records; correcting as appropriate
• Balancing books of accounts and preparing profit/loss, income, and balance sheet statements
• Preparing and analyzing billing and accounts receivable
• Coordinating and maintaining capital and fixed/intangible assets
• Assisting with audits by providing supporting records and documentation
• Conducting studies and developing solutions for improving accounting processes
• Assisting in preparing statistical and financial reports
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements and monthly reports
• Assisting with audits by providing supporting records and documentation
• Conducting studies and developing solutions for improving accounting processes
• Analyzing operating leases and reporting
• All other duties as assigned
The successful candidate must be fluent in English. Proficiency in MicroSoft Excel and Word required. Proficiency in other MicroSoft applications preferred but not required. Experience with JD Edwards, EssBase, and AP Workflow preferred but not required.
During Month-end Close, some work may have to be done during the Eastern Standard Time Zone (GMT-5).
Requirements:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of Accounting related experience and a University degree or its equivalent in education and experience. U.S. CPA and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS preferred but not required.
* Candidate must possess at least a Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam), Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
* Required language(s):
* At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Applicants must be willing to work in Cebu City.
* Preferably Supervisor / 5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employees specializing in Finance – General/Cost Accounting or equivalent.
