German/English Content Manager

Responsibilities:
At Orange Translations, a large part of our work involves translating the websites of our clients into multiple languages. One of these websites (it’s the website of a University in Germany) has a large amount of updates every week so that we decided to create a full-time position for managing the process.
As Content Manager your responsibility will be to monitor on a daily basis the changes that the client makes to the German version of the website. Some changes are small so that you can publish them immediately in the English version. Other changes will require you to coordinate with our team of professional full-time translators, for example if there are larger amounts of new content to be translated. Once you receive the texts from the translators you will then publish them online.
Aside from this you will also be working on other tasks such as coordinating other translation projects, communicating with clients and translators worldwide (mostly by e-mail), selecting translators for new projects, as well as analyzing documents and website content for cost estimates.
This position does not require you to possess the full language skill of an experienced translator. However, if you know both languages well and have excellent English writing skills you will be able to make a lot of the updates yourself in a quick and effective way.
This position does not require you to have prior knowledge with web programming or content management systems. If you have an open mind to technology you’ll be able to learn the system quite fast, even without any prior experience in the field.
The main skill required is writing and language skill.
You will be working in a spacious, quiet office (around 3-4 people max at any given time) in a very pleasant and personal, yet professional, work environment. Requirements:
Required language(s): English, German
Candidates must possess at least a bachelor’s/college degree (any field), have excellent English language skills (especially writing) and be fluent in German. We are looking for candidates who are computer literate and have an open mind towards technology and the Internet.
HTML knowledge and experience with website content management systems is a plus, but not required.
