Responsibilities:
* The Automation Test Engineer helps the team release the highest quality product to our customers by creating automated tests and tools that verify our product’s functionality and performance in a controlled test environment before being released to production.
* Reviews Functional Requirements Documents and Technical Specifications to find bugs at design time
* Develops tools/test ware to aid in the software testing process
* Creates easily maintainable and reusable automated regression, stress, BVT (smoke), and performance tests based on test cases
* Runs automated test cases and reports the results
* Finds defects in the software and creates detailed defect reports
* Works with the development team to gain an understanding of development and assists in creating/designing testable code
* Effectively communicates with the Software Test Lead through meetings, status reports and email
* Performs peer reviews of automation test code
* Actively seeks and recommends improvement of the automation test process to the test lead
* May assist in the writing of all test deliverables including Test Requirements Document, and Test Completion Criteria
* Investigation of latest java tool and 3rd party libraries to aid in the software testing process
* May work with the development team to introduce new test driven development processes to our existing software development process
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
* Previous experience working as an Software Test Engineer (1 year experience minimum)
* Experience in Software Development (1 year)
* Proven knowledge of software test industry technologies, methodologies and tools
* Knowledge of the development process
* Adequate communication skills in English
* Development level programming skills (java)
* Self-starting and proactive regarding job duties
* Enthusiasm and passion for testing complex software systems
* Proven knowledge of database design / SQL
* Proven knowledge of SVN (source control), ANT, and other development tools
* Enthusiasm for following the latest Java technologies and 3rd party applications
* Experience with at least 1 approach to Test Driven Development
* Experience with Unit Testing of Java Applications
* Experience with at least 1 Test Automation Framework
* Experience testing international software
